Ankarafantsika, Ankarana, and Amber Mountain National Parks: Duration 13 days/12 nights
Day 1: Flight from Paris to Antananarivo
Flight from Paris airport to Antananarivo. Night on board.
Day 2: Antananarivo
Arrival at the Ivato international airport. Reception by the guide and transfert to the hotel. Excursion up to the hill of Antananarivo. Visit of Ambohimanga "the blue hill", cradle of the Malagasy civilization and former summer Palace of the Queens and Kings. Night at the hotel.
Day 3: Antananarivo - Ampijoroa
Early in the morning, departure for Ampijoroa, a village near the Ankarafantsika National Park. You will pass through Andriba, the place where the Malagasy army was defeated by the French in 1895; you will admire the Betsiboka falls. Night in a bungalow.
Day 4: Ankarafantsika
The whole day, visit of the Ankarafantsika National Park which is a den of birds and lemurs among which the Microcebus which is the smallest lemurs in the world. Night in a bungalow.
Day 5: Ampijoroa - Ambaja - Ankify
Early in the morning, departure for Ankify, the maritime port for Nosy-Be. Ambanja is the capital of the coffee, cacao, and ylang-ylang tree plantation. Night at the hotel.
Day 6: Nosy Komba
You will join Nosy Komba by a high-speed motorboat to visit its fauna and flora which is preserved from any civilization. Night at the hotel.
Day 7: Nosy Komba - Ambilobe
Back to the main island and departure to Ambilobe, the capital of the sugar cane. Night at the hotel.
Day 8: Ankarana
Early in the morning, visit of the Ankarana National Park to discover the Tsingy which is the western extension of a chalky massif of the medium Jurassic that emerges from a basaltic plain located above 50 m over the sea level. Night at the hotel.
Day 9: Ankarana - Antsiranana
Departure for Antsiranana which is also called Diégo-Suarez. Visit of the city. Night at the hotel.
Day 10: Montagne d'Ambre National Park
Visit of the Montagne d'Ambre National Park which is place of endemicity with 77 species of birds, 7 species of lemurs, and 24 species of amphibian.
Day 11: Antsiranana or Diégo-Suarez
Back to Antsiranana to discover the city: the British cemetery, the Ramena beach, the Pain de sucre, the emerald sea, and the green lake. Night at the hotel.
Day 12: Flight to Antananarivo
Early in the morning, transfert to the airport for a flight to Antananarivo. Night at the hotel.
Day 13: Flight to Paris
Transfert to the airport for a flight to Paris. Arrival in Paris late in the evening.
